The return of a Wolverhampton logistics company’s annual awards night celebrated its outstanding performance in unprecedented times and raised more than £4,000 for its nominated charity.
The annual Pallet-Track Shareholder Gala took place on Saturday, November 27 at the De Vere Cotswolds Water Park, when members came together to mark an exceptional year of business.
In a venue decked out in more than 1,500m of festive fairy lights, members enjoyed an evening’s entertainment presented by Wynne Evans of ‘Go Compare’ fame, plus a stand-up set from legendary comedian Jimmy Carr.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone in attendance, more than £4,000 was raised in cash and pledges for Pallet-Track’s nominated charity, St Basils, which provides help for young people who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness.
No fewer than 13 members took home a platinum award, a true sign of operational excellence as winners must have achieved 99 per cent or above delivery service for 10 out of 12 months of the year.
The platinum winners were Bartrums Road Services; Harrison Solway Logistics; Lynn Star Distribution; Pallet-Track Logistics; JMS of Doncaster; RR Transport; Aztek Logistics; Immingham Transport; Total Logistics Products; H & B Logistics; Express Parcel Services; Woodside Distribution Limited and The Delivery Group.
There were also regional awards for members RR Transport; Woodside Distribution; Pallet-Track Logistics; Aztek Logistics and Harrison Solway Logistics.
Caroline Green, chief executive of Pallet-Track, said: “Our members have operated under truly exceptional conditions this year, dealing with huge volatility in demand; an ever-changing economic picture and the well-publicised issues with driver shortages.
“Having 13 platinum winners is a tremendous feat in such a difficult year, giving impeccable service to the network and their fellow member shareholders. It is incredibly impressive for any member to win this award, so the fact that we have 13 winners is quite frankly amazing.
“It has been wonderful to get together to mark their achievements in the face of such adversity, celebrating the many successes the network has had in 2021.”
