Same-day delivery business Gophr today announced its partnership with Kamsons Pharmacy, offering backup in-house fleet support for when the business needs cover. Gophr will facilitate multi-drop operations from store to patient homes across the pharmacy’s 70-strong estate.

After a successful trial period centred around Kamsons Brighton store, Gophr will now support the pharmacy UK-wide. Gophr was chosen for its experience in community relationships as well as pharmacy logistics developed via its work with online pharmacy Phlo and Qured, a leading at-home rapid testing provider.

Gophr’s strong Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) means that Kamsons community pharmacies can continue to offer a localised delivery service for patients, where previously they may have struggled due to a lack of adequate cover. This gives each pharmacy a competitive advantage, allowing them to retain and attract as many patients as possible. Delivery can be particularly impacted during the summer months when holidays can lead to gaps in the delivery offering which can in turn impact the trusted relationship between pharmacy and patient. This new partnership with Gophr is set to solve these challenges.

Graham Smith, Head of Strategic Accounts at Gophr, commented: “Delivery is an increasingly vital service that community pharmacies can offer. Vulnerable patients are often unable to visit the pharmacy in-person to pick up essential medication. Moreover, a rise in the cost of fuel means many people are using their cars less to access their local high street which may be some distance away. Gophr is perfectly placed to offer Kamsons Pharmacy patients an unrivalled delivery service.

“We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional doorstep experience and highly flexible delivery, thereby building vital relationships with our client’s patients. This is so important when it comes to medical drop-offs where people are reliant on their local pharmacy. It is even more vital when offering cover service, ensuring that customers still get the best service possible.”

The doorstep experience must replicate the security protocols that take place in the pharmacy itself and there are layers of protection in delivery to uphold standards ensuring that prescription medicines are given directly to the people they are intended for. Since 2014, Gophr has used cutting-edge technology to provide quick, convenient, environmentally friendly, and dependable last-mile delivery solutions across the UK – giving them a real competitive advantage when it comes to operating in this sector.

Paul Antenen, Operations Manager at Kamsons Pharmacy commented: “We are delighted to be working with Gophr, enabling us to deliver best-in-class service to our patients and communities across the UK. Their tech-driven approach coupled with proven experience in delivering safely in the highly specialist and complex pharmacy space means that Gophr is a natural partner for us.”
