Refrigeration brand CoolMed has signed an exciting agreement to supply Tesco Pharmacies with its medial units.

The Salford-based operation has already supplied freestanding and undercounter units to 20 shops and expects to provide many more to Tesco’s 365 pharmacies around the UK in the coming years.

CoolMed was established in 2018 but already has around a 70% share of the UK pharmacy refrigerator and freezer market. It supplies an ever-increasing number of clients, including some 600 laboratories, via Scientific Laboratory Supplies and Wolf Laboratories, NHS hospitals and primary care networks, care homes and veterinary surgeries. It partnered with Lloyds Pharmacy and now supplies Rowlands Pharmacy, Numark, Well, Phoenix Healthcare and a large proportion of the independent pharmacy market.

It is the only e-commerce medical firm that customers can buy from directly.

Account manager Sam Lister said, “This partnership marks a tremendous step for CoolMed that could see us supplying hundreds of pharmacies at the heart of local communities. It’s the latest chapter in our brilliant growth story that has taken us from a small start-up, six years ago, to a firm supplying the NHS with fridges during the COVID crisis and now working with one of the world’s biggest retail chains.”

The models supplied to Tesco pharmacies, so far, include CMS125 (under counter) CMS300 (freestanding) CMS400 (freestanding).
