Frugi, the leading sustainable children’s clothing company, celebrates their new Spring-Summer 2022 collection by supporting the popular Royal Botanic Gardens Family Programme this Easter at Kew Gardens and Wakehurst.

The Family Programme is a cross-site activity over the Easter holidays with an approximate visitor attendance of 120,000 at Kew Gardens and 32,000 at Wakehurst. This interactive trail is carefully designed to meander through lush garden landscapes with a relatable family-friendly theme. This April, the classic children’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle will set the trail narrative for exploration while teaching little ones about the power of plants and fungi in a playful and engaging way.

The Family Programme is available at both locations from 2nd April and runs through the 18th April at Kew Gardens and the 24th April at Wakehurst, giving plenty of time for families to enjoy during the Easter holiday.

Available to purchase in all gift shops at Kew Gardens and Wakehurst, Frugi’s new season collection is inspired by the bright and beautiful flowers that bloom all around us in spring. Frugi’s new season collection features colourful, fun prints for babies, toddlers, and children through 12 years. Frugi, which means Fruits of the Earth in Latin, is bursting with energising newness and core bestsellers with all the clever details you expect from this leading sustainable children’s clothing brand. This includes reversible styles, interactive appliques, and clothes with extendable cuffs, waistbands and shoulder straps that are designed to grow with the child. It’s reassuring to know that 90% of the Frugi range is made from GOTS certified organic cotton with the balance being made from sustainable or recycled materials.

With a wider mission to help raise the next generation of eco-heroes, Frugi donates 1% of annual turnover to charity each year and over the last 18 years has donated £1 million to various causes. Frugi prides itself on its sustainable commitments throughout the business while exporting to over 500 retailers in 30 countries across the globe. Earning two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise for Sustainable Development and International Trade in 2020, Frugi are proud to do things right by children, parents, and our planet.

Frugi CEO Sarah Clark says, “We are excited to collaborate with the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew and Wakehurst for this exciting programme. It is a true testament of Frugi’s ongoing commitment to educate and inspire children to love the natural world and to continue to encourage everyone to protect the planet we all play on.”

Paul Denton, Head of Visitor Programmes at RBG Kew adds: “It’s wonderful to be able to collaborate with Frugi on these new interactive trails for Easter 2022 at both Kew Gardens and Wakehurst. The Very Hungry Caterpillar trails will inspire the next generation of visitors to encounter new and exciting perspectives on the world around us, an ethos which is shared by both RBG Kew and Frugi.”
