Leading experts in pallet stability and wrapping, Lindum will be showcasing its innovative Mobile Pallet Stability Test Lab with live demonstrations on stand 1130 at IntraLogisteX 2024.

Lindum’s mobile pallet stability test lab provides an offsite solution to solve movement in transport (MIT) issues that can result in huge product and financial losses for businesses. It complements the company’s £250,000 Innovation Centre, based at its premises in Grimsby, which opened in May 2023.

Statistics show that movement in transport issues affects 11% of palletised journeys, leading to 82.5 million pallets arriving at their destination having sustained damage.

The mobile unit is the first of its kind in the UK. The lab is driven to customers’ premises, and the self-contained unit uses state-of-the-art technology and an onboard accelerator bench to simulate real-world stresses a loaded pallet is subject to during transit.

A camera measures and records the deflection and movements with real-time feedback in accordance with EUMOS standards so that adjustments can be made to make the pallet more secure and prevent product damage.

Since its launch in April 2022, the test lab has carried out almost 1,500 tests across a range of products, including pharmaceutical goods, foods, canned beer, and tins of paint. Just last year, a leading global brewery experienced an 80% reduction in MIT issues by acting upon feedback from Lindum’s Test Lab.

Rick Sellars, Sales Manager at Lindum says: “We are thrilled to be attending the InstraLogisticsX conference and showcasing our Mobile Pallet Stability Test Lab. Movement in Transport remains one of the biggest challenges faced in supply chain efficiency and sustainability, but our test lab can simulate real-world stresses and reveal where adjustments can be made to improve pallet stability, reduce waste and enhance a company’s bottom line.”

The company will be on stand 1130 showcasing the mobile test lab at the 2024 IntraLogisticX event, taking place on March 19th and 20th at the NEC, Birmingham.

IntraLogisticX is the UK’s only dedicated event for the intralogistics sector, offering a platform for industry professionals to explore the latest innovations, solutions, and technologies shaping the future of logistics and supply chain management.
