James Hall & Co, the SPAR wholesaler for the north of England, is celebrating a huge milestone this week as they are set to manufacture their 60 millionth sandwich since sandwich production first started in 2009.

The leading family run wholesale and SPAR convenience store business, based in Lancashire, produces over 21,000 sandwiches a day at its purpose built distribution centre in Preston.

Peter Dodding, Sales and Marketing Director at James Hall & Co, said: “We are very proud to produce high quality and tasty sandwiches and we are thrilled to have reached this 60,000,000 sandwich milestone with plans for sales and growth building momentum.

“We have had a great strategy and like everyone else, we have navigated our way through the pandemic. We are in a great place that is far ahead of what we could have imagined.”

James Hall & Co. is a Lancashire based, family business, serving a network of over 600 independent and company owned SPAR stores across the north of England, six days a week.

Sandwich production is one part of the James Hall & Co business and reaching this milestone demonstrates how demand for food-to-go products including sandwiches has increased within the convenience market.

James Hall & Co produces a range of nine sandwiches for SPAR stores. Since sandwich production started in 2009 the company has raised £600,000 for the charities Marie Curie and NSPCC from the sale of each sandwich.
