In a world first, Peoplesafe has launched a new integration to its Apple iOS personal safety app: Apple Vehicle Crash Detection.
Largest provider of personal safety technology for over 25 years, Peoplesafe continues to redefine employee safety solutions with its latest innovation in emergency response.
When integrated with an Apple iPhone 14 or later device, Apple Crash Detection and the Peoplesafe app work together to provide an instant response to anyone involved in a traffic accident.
This latest enterprise level integration with Apple signifies another exciting step forward in this tech partnership to enhance safety. Personal safety apps with their range of advanced features are becoming part of the safety kit, not just a ‘nice to have’.
How the new app integration works in four simple steps:
Crash Detection: If Apple's algorithms determine that a severe car crash has occurred, the device will trigger an emergency call.
Simultaneous Alert: In addition to the emergency call, the device will also send an alert to the Peoplesafe ARC.
ARC Response: The Peoplesafe ARC will receive the alert, including the user's location information. Prior integration to the app with What3Words will allow the app to share the location of the incident with the Peoplesafe ARC, to within a 5m² radius.
Immediate Assistance: The ARC will coordinate a response with emergency services and the phone user’s nominated escalation contacts. With direct access to police control rooms, and without the need for a 999 call, the ARC guarantees the fastest possible response in any emergency.
The Peoplesafe app can also provide the iPhone user’s profile, including name, age, allergies, medical conditions - information that could be vital in any emergency service response.
Will Solomon, Peoplesafe CTO says: “The launch of Apple Crash Detection coincides with all the work we have been doing this year to raise awareness of dangers to people outside of the workplace, such as on the commute or spare time.
We are constantly looking at new ways to innovate and improve Peoplesafe’s offering to ensure our enhanced safety measures cover more and more ground. We’re thrilled to be launching this pioneering integration today, and it has been made possible through our strong relationship with Apple, allowing us to offer this potentially life-saving feature to our users.”
*The Apple Detection service requires an iPhone 14 or later device, and an active Travelsafe subscription.
