Protega Global Ltd’s revolutionary Hexcel Wrap ‘paper bubble wrap’ not only captivated visitors at the Packaging Innovations & Empack Show, but also the judges as the company won the event’s Most Innovating Product award.
Nominated as one of the Packaging Innovations top 10 products at the show by organisers Easyfairs, the industry’s first UK manufactured paper bubble wrap had also been chosen to be displayed in the ‘Innovations Gallery’ at the NEC in Birmingham.
Packaging Innovations, the industry’s flagship event, showcases the latest solutions on offer for food & beverage, personal care, household, pharmaceutical and chemicals sectors. It provided the perfect platform to showcase Protega’s eco-friendly alternative to plastic bubble wrap, says Marketing Manager Daniel Willock who was thrilled to win the award in the face of such stiff competition.

Hexcel Wrap can be effortlessly wrapped around products to offer protection equivalent to plastic bubble, but without the impact on the environment. The award-winning company recently announced an investment of £1.3million bringing together its manufacturing and distribution operations under one roof at a new facility in the UK. The move to the 88,000sq ft site in Andover is part of a growth strategy, enabling Protega to produce Hexcel Wrap in-house instead of importing materials from overseas.
