Tyron Runflat, the manufacturer of the Tyron Multiband, has launched its innovative new T300 fitting machine at a critical time for the UK's blue-light sector, where increasing pressures mean every vehicle on the road counts and every second can be the difference between life and death.

With increased demand, staff shortages and budget constraints as well as increasing response time pressures, the UK’s emergency services are facing unprecedented challenges. Recognising these issues, Tyron has developed the Tyron T300 fitting machine to reduce installation times, improve fitting consistency and enhance tyre safety across emergency vehicle fleets.

The launch comes as the Department of Health and Social Care confirmed it delivered 1,141 new or replacement ambulances across England between April 2025 and March 2026 – the highest annual total on record. Designed to replace ageing vehicles, improve fleet consistency and keep more ambulances operational, the investment highlights the increasing importance of reliable vehicle safety solutions that minimise downtime and maximise availability.

Building on more than 30 years of supporting the emergency services, Tyron is leading the way in tyre safety innovation.

With the recent spikes in temperature across the UK, NHS England has reported that “many of our ambulance services are under sustained pressure”, further emphasising the timely importance of keeping emergency service vehicles on the road.

With a history dating back to The Troubles in Northern Ireland, Tyron has remained committed to developing life-saving tyre safety technologies that protect emergency service personnel and the public.

Peter Simson, Director at Tyron Runflat, said: "The blue-light industry is facing a challenging backdrop, but we do believe that our systems can be the answer to a number of these challenges. We have seen first-hand the number of police vehicles out of action, some of which will inevitably be due to tyre failure from potholes and significant impacts, which further highlights the importance of tyre safety solutions.
"Having supported the blue-light industry for over 30 years, we can't emphasise enough how important it is that emergency vehicles are maintained to the highest standard. Not only does this keep drivers safe, but it can also save thousands of pounds in vehicle repair costs. As emergency vehicles require specialised, heavy-duty tyres and operate under high-stress conditions, tyre replacement costs can escalate rapidly.
"Our fitting machine has been specifically designed to be fully adjustable so it can accommodate any wheel width, with specialist fitting hoops. By making the fitting process simpler and more consistent, we hope the T300 will make our Multibands even more accessible across blue-light fleets.
"Professional fitting is essential, and every Tyron Multiband is tested and approved to speeds of up to 250kph (156mph), ensuring reliable performance for high-speed pursuit vehicles. This significantly improves driver and passenger safety in the event of a tyre blowout."
