The latest order for three box van Isuzu 3.5 tonne Grafters means that there are now 11 Isuzus in the distribution fleet at bathroom specialists Alan T Carr, comprising both 3.5 tonne and 7.5 tonne models.
“With our anticipated planned business growth, we are upgrading the distribution fleet and believe that the Isuzu Grafter is the truck of choice for our expanding specialist business. Having run Grafters in the fleet for many years now, we believe that they are the optimum cost-effective practical truck for our business requirements and their proven reliability is 2nd to none.” said Mark Thompson, transport manager, Alan T Carr.
The first two new Isuzu Grafter N35.125(T) long wheelbase Grafters are now in service with Alan T Carr, whilst the third and final Grafter from this order will be joining the fleet in September, with all three vehicles supplied by long standing local Isuzu truck dealer Ditchburn Trucks Ltd.
“These Grafters have been purchased to support the current growth of our company. They are called Grafter by name and are very much a Grafter by nature, judging by our previous experience with them, as we work them extremely hard on our intensive daily delivery routes,” comments Mark Thompson.
All three Isuzu Grafters are replacing existing 64 and 65 plate Isuzus and will have a working life of approximately five years in the fleet, covering up to 250,000 miles in that period.
Alan T Carr is part of AMS Plumbers Merchants Ltd, specialising in the distribution of bathroom products to trade customers. The company currently runs a total distribution fleet of 30 vehicles covering over 500,000 miles per annum, with the Isuzu marque now accounting for almost 70% of the fleet.
Currently the company services customers predominantly in the north-west within a one-hundred-mile radius of their head office in Burscough, Lancashire, but have recently expanded its business area to cover both the north-east and the East Midlands.
“It’s been a pleasure to work with Alan T Carr for many years now as they have developed their specialist bathroom distribution business. The combination of Isuzu 7.5 tonne and 3.5 tonne vehicles clearly meets the business criteria for their intensive distribution operation, providing them with the reliability and durability needed for the growing business,” said Richard Waterworth, head of sales, Isuzu Truck UK.
