Following the announcement last year of the extension of SPAR Scotland’s four-year partnership with the Scottish Football Association (Scottish FA), the Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup visited the SPAR store located in Kincorth, Aberdeen on 1st February 2024.

The Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup was available in store for customers to see from 12pm until 3pm. Access to the Scottish Cup was possible from the extension of SPAR Scotland’s sponsorship with the Scottish FA.

Paula Middleton, Head of Marketing for SPAR Scotland, said: “It was really encouraging to see so many customers visit our SPAR store in Kincorth and have their photo taken with the Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup.

“We had a huge amount of fun with our spinning wheel for prizes. Customers really enjoyed it. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly seeing and hearing the Scottish Cup being piped into the store by Area Manager Garry Brailsford – it truly was a special moment!

“We are delighted to see our partnership with the Scottish FA go from strength to strength as we continue to promote the growth of girl’s and women’s football in Scotland.”

Colleagues from SGFs Healthy Living Programme (HLP) were also in attendance with children from the local primary school Abbotswell Primary who were lucky enough to have photos taken with the Scottish Cup whilst also enjoying the healthy living event instore.

SPAR Scotland is passionate about nurturing neighbourhoods and supporting its local communities. As a result, Abbotswell Primary and Kincorth Community Hub were recipients of this generosity and were each presented with cheque donations.

SPAR Scotland continues to raise the profile of the Scotland Women’s National Team, as well as committing investment into girls’ and women’s grassroots football across the country. Its partnership extension with the Scottish FA until August 2027 includes new rights as SPAR Scotland extends its sponsorship to include the Women’s Scottish Cup domestic games over the next four years.

SPAR Scotland’s partnership with the Scottish Football Association (Scottish FA) encourages young people to have an active and healthy lifestyle and supports girls who want to play football at a grassroots level with the aim one day to represent the Scotland Women’s National Team.
