The arrival of the latest Isuzu dropside truck into the fleet of TIS (NGA) LTD, completes a programme of four new Isuzus, covering both 7.5 tonne and 3.5 tonne GVW, that have been delivered to the north-east company during 2021, literally doubling their overall fleet size within 12 months.
Supplied by local Isuzu dealer Thompson Commercials, two Isuzu N75.150 (E) 7.5 tonne long wheelbase trucks, fitted with dropside bodies from Robinson Truck Bodies, and two Isuzu Grafter N35.125(S) 3.5 tonne long wheelbase trucks, fitted with TGS dropside bodies, are now working in the TIS (NGA) LTD fleet, delivering fabric maintenance and access support material on TIS (NGA) LTD projects all over the UK.
Kevin Heilbron, Operations Director at TIS (NGA) LTD explains why their fleet has grown so quickly with Isuzu, “Towards the end of 2019, TIS adopted a change of strategy that required running its own fleet of trucks, and after careful consideration, we felt that Isuzu provided us with the optimum choice of vehicles for the efficient transportation of access equipment.”
“In my previous employment, I had worked closely with Thomson Commercials, so it made complete sense to continue this relationship here at TIS (NGA) LTD when we committed to a fleet expansion programme based on the Isuzu marque. Last year, our first two Isuzus proved to be ideal for our requirements, so we added a further two later in the year. This expansion programme is set to continue in 2022 when we plan to add more new Isuzus to our fleet,” added Kevin.
TIS (NGA) LTD has a long-term plan for operating the new Isuzu trucks in its fleet with each vehicle expected to cover at least 35,000 miles per annum during their working lives.
